Meghan Markle wasn't given any help with her wedding dress after being "very rude" to an army officer who was meant to assist her claims royal author Tom Bower. The controversial Revenge author was discussing Harry and Meghan's wedding on the Pod Save The Queen podcast.

He said that when Meghan arrived at St George's Chapel she had "problems" with her veil. While Clare Waight Keller, the Givenchy designer responsible for Meghan's stunning gown, stepped forward to help, the army officer on hand conspicuously didn't move.Tom said: "A military man told me an extraordinary story about Meghan when she arrived at the wedding at Windsor Castle on that glorious day in 2018. "You see her get out of the car unaccompanied and she has problems with the train of her dress and the army officer doesn't step forward to help her. "And the reason is, the day before in the rehearsal, she had been very rude to him so he thought, 'well I'm not going to help you today." Tom added: "I didn't get the story from him but a fellow officer of his who explained what happened." Once the veil - which had been embroidered with 53 flowers representing each country of the Commonwealth and was over 16 foot long - had been untangled, Meghan made her way into St George's Chapel.

Initially she walked down the aisle unaccompanied but Prince Charles took her arm for the final section of the processional in the absence of her father.

Tom Bower's recently released bombshell book Revenge makes numerous claims about the 41 year old former Suits actress including that it was she who made Kate Middleton cry during the bridesmaids dress fittings prior to her wedding.
