After her public cancer update video earlier this month, Kate Middleton has made an under-the-radar return to work - but she’s also made some very important moves for her future role in the United States.

Last week, six months after she first announced the diagnosis and said she’d be stepping down from official royal duties temporarily, she held a meeting at Windsor Castle with some of her Centre for Early Childhood team signalling - albeit quietly - that she’s back.

But in an even bigger indicator of what’s to come, it has also emerged that Kate and William have just signed and submitted an important official document to the United States Patent and Trademark Office in preparation for the official launch of their Royal Foundation charity in the US.

With the inclusion of “healthcare services relating to mental health” in their trademark application, a source tells OK! that the crossover between the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Foundation and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ’s Archewell Foundation is undeniable, and could lead to something of a Stateside turf war. “Meghan was quite shocked when she found out that Kate and William plan to do more work in America after trademarking their foundation’s brand with authorities,” they told us. “Although they have made a couple of trips to the US, it’s not really part of their territory and now Meghan feels they could be moving in on her turf.” Kate and William, both 42, submitted the initial trademark application in May last year and according to documents seen by OK!, it included a number of goods and services under the Foundation umbrella including charitable fundraising, educational activities and “Healthcare services relating to mental health”.
