Royal fans have been patiently waiting for Meghan Markle to make an appearance at the 2023 Invictus Games. Now, the 42-year-old has joined her husband Prince Harry in Dusseldorf, Germany and apologised for 'being late to the party'.
Harry, who founded the games in 2014, gave his wife the spotlight and centre stage to give a poignant speech to the 1,600 attendees, including competitors, friends and family.
Addressing the audience, the mum-of-two told them why she missed the opening of the days games, and it was because she was spending time with her two young children in Los Angeles – including taking her eldest, Archie, to school before leaving for Germany.
She said: "It is so special to be here sorry I'm a little late to the party. I had to spend a little more time getting our little ones settled at home and get them to drop off. "Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you.
