In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Meghan Markle has unwittingly given away three significant body language signals during her latest interview with Prince Harry, revealing her inner feelings, according to a body language expert.

Their heartfelt conversation with Jane Pauley on CBS Sunday Morning was the couple's first joint TV appearance since 2021.The interview, which was filled with emotion and centred on issues they hold dear, saw them launch The Parents' Network, an initiative aimed at helping families affected by the loss of children due to cyberbullying-related suicide.The interview was laden with feeling, and Meghan often appeared to find comfort in her husband's company.

Judi James, a body language specialist, provided insights to the Mirror, pointing out three specific actions from Meghan that disclosed her true emotions.

She noted: "As Meghan shares her own story of suicidal thoughts she performs several hair-preen rituals and a wry, mirthless smile that suggests she is being politely brave." She continued, "Her hand goes out to hold Harry's leg as though seeking his support although he sits relatively still with his head cocked, watching her face with what looks like concern." Judi also commented on Harry's response, saying: "When he looks down his fingers rub together in what looks like anxiety as Meghan describes what she has 'overcome' after 'not being believed'.", reports the Express.
