Former Love Island star Megan Barton-Hanson – who has previously spoken out about her disappointment over how sex workers are treated – has said she believes people "admire" her for "owning" her past.
In an exclusive chat with OK! at the last night's Social Ikon launch event (24 March), Megan said: "For years, especially on reality TV women have always been portrayed as sluts or slut shamed for acting the way that men have. "I feel like sex workers still get such a hard time in society, so I think to come out and own that people just admire that." Megan also told us that she didn't want to be "going over the old boring stuff", like her dalliance with TOWIE star James Lock.
Instead, she wanted to speak about her podcast (You Come First), her VICE column and the talk she delivered at Oxford University. "I feel like my talk at Oxford was the biggest thing for me," she admits. "It was amazing.
