Meat Loaf's widow Deborah Aday has spoken about her "gut-wrenching" grief following his passing last week.The Bat Out of Hell singer, real name Michael Lee Aday, passed away at the age of 74 on Thursday 20 January with his wife Deborah by his side.
And grieving Deborah has detailed the final few months she spent with her husband before thanking fans for helping her get through the difficult time. "The grief I feel over the loss of my husband is gut-wrenching.
I was lying close to Michael when he took his last breath, and my sadness is beyond words," she began in a statement to People magazine.
Deborah continued: "I've always called him by his given name because I didn't see him as "Meat". I feel much gratitude for the outpouring of love I have received from around the world. "He meant so much to so many people, and it gave me joy to be able to share him with the world.
