Meadow Walker is named the Activist of the Year by Pencils of Promise

Meadow Walker revealed to her 3.7 million Instagram followers on Wednesday that she was named the Activist of the Year by Pencils of Promise.She will be honored with the award at the annual PoP Gala, held October 20 at the  Museum of the Moving Image in New York City.The 23-year-old daughter of the late Paul Walker had first teamed up with Pencils for Promise back in 2020.

Thank you so much!' she said in the Instagram caption. Walker is the founder and president of The Paul Walker Foundation, named in honor of her father, which first teamed with Pencils of Promise in 2020 to build Jasikan College of Education Demonstration Primary School in Ghana.

Gala: Walker shared an image revealing the date and location of the gala and an image of herself stating she was getting the 'Activist Award' on Instagram Wednesday afternoon She revealed in an April interview with Forbes that their partnership started with a DM on social media.'I’d been spending a lot of time in Ghana, and I was inspired by work they’re doing there.
