Danika ‘Nika’ McGuigan was honoured at the IFTAs on Sunday night when she was named Best Actress in a Lead Role — Film at the awards.
The IFTA win was bittersweet though as sadly, Nika passed away in July, 2019 after a short illness. She won the award for her performance in Wildfire which is dedicated to the 33-year-old.
After the ceremony concluded, Barry McGuigan took to Twitter to share how ‘proud‘ he is of her achievement.
