McDonalds slash McPlant, Veggie Deluxe and dippers to 99p

Vegetarians can get their favourite McDonald’s menu items for less than £1 this week to celebrate National Vegetarian Week. And even comedian Jack Whitehall is on board.

The Bad Education actor is a flexitarian, and has been captured on film with his meat-loving parents Michael and Hilary taste testing the McPlant as part of their At-home with the Whitehall’s show.

The video shows that despite Jack’s best efforts to persuade his father to adopt a flexitarian diet, Michael responds with his typical no-nonsense approach.

Jack orders a McDonald’s and as the trio chow down, he reveals it’s not actually meat but in fact a McPlant.
