Fast food giant McDonald's is planning to reopen 30 of its drive-thrus as early as next week - in the next phase of its plan to get serving again.

The burger chain has already said it will reopen 15 of its restaurants for delivery again on Wednesday. "Next week we will begin the next phase of reopening a further 30 pilot restaurants in the UK and Ireland, offering service through the Drive-Thru lane from Wednesday 20 May," the chain said in a statement. "We plan to reopen all our Drive-Thrus by early June." However, to try and keep queues shorter and staff from being overwhelmed, the chain is also bringing in a £25 order cap. "We will have a £25 order cap as we adjust to smaller teams and social distancing in our kitchens," McDonald's said.
