McDonald's 'ration' tomatoes in Big Tasty burgers due to shortages

Due to a shortage in key ingredients, a wide range of McDonald's burgers are being subject to 'rationing' in some branches. This is mainly due to the fast-food giant experiencing a shortage of tomatoes.

It affects the Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with Bacon which is being served with one slice of tomato rather than the regular two.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We are currently experiencing a shortage in our supply of tomatoes. As a result, the Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with Bacon are being served with one slice of tomato rather than two.
