Maya Rudolph Channels Spicy Beyoncé On ‘SNL’
deadline.comMaya Rudolph is back as host of NBC‘s Saturday Night Live and she’s doing what she does best—imitating Queen Beyoncé. In her best “Texas Hold Em” ensemble, Rudolph appeared in a sketch as the multi-Grammy Award-winning artist on her second visit to the popular YouTube chat series Hot Ones, where celebrities eat spicy hot wings while being interviewed.
Her first time in a Hot Ones sketch was three years ago. “Giddy up, let’s go,” she tells Sean Evans (Mikey Day) as she prepares to sample some of the spiciest sauces she’s ever had.
After her first taste, she says, “That’s a tasty wing and it’s not that spicy. I’m from Texas, baby. Your girl likes it caliente.” Famous last words because she literally goes cross-eyes after her second sauce taste.
She struggles to confirm she’s doing alright and wants to carry on, instead, she proclaims, “This wing is stomping my ass.” Revealing her bones feel like they’re on fire, she calls for her assistant, played by Kenan Thompson.
