Maya Jama has been revealed as the new host Love Island after weeks of speculation.The 28 year old was one of the favourites to take over the role from former host Laura Whitmore, 38, who announced she was stepping down as the presenter of the ITV2 dating show following the end of this year's series.
Maya will make her debut as host as the new ninth series returns in early 2023. Speaking about the news, the excited star said: "I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows!

Maya is a TV presenter of Somali and Swedish descent who was born and raised in Bristol. In 2012, she moved to London to pursue a media career and she initially hoped to become an actress, before deciding that TV presenting may be a better fit for her.
