Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.
Amanda Holden
Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Maxwell Thorpe Ditches Busking For ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ And Stuns The Judges With His Operative Voice

“Britain’s Got Talent” contestant Maxwell Thorpe unveiled an incredibly powerful voice that no one saw coming. The 32-year-old shy performer admitted he was feeling “very” nervous ahead of his audition, since it was the largest audience he’s ever sang for.  READ MORE: ‘Britain’s Got Talent’: Rap And Pianist Duo Flintz & T4ylor Receive Golden Buzzer Following ‘Perfect Audition’ Thorpe, who’s been busking for the last 10 years, told the judges that sometimes he would be “singing to people that aren’t listening”.

He went on to sing a powerful rendition of Italian music performer Luciano Pavarotti’s operative song “Caruso”, which received an overwhelming applause and standing ovation from the entire audience and all four judges.

Simon Cowell complimented Thorpe’s “extraordinary” performance.  “Seriously, you’re so shy and quiet and then that happened… It was like one of those movies.
