Mauricio Katz & Pedro Peirano Ink Multi-Year Overall Deal With Sony Pictures Television
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Writers-creators Mauricio Katz and Pedro Peirano are getting into business with Sony Pictures Television.
The duo have signed an exclusive overall deal with the studio to create, develop, and produce scripted drama series for cable and streaming.
Katz & Peirano have written pilot scripts for Apple TV+, Starz, HBO, and FX; and have collaborated with filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese, Benicio Del Toro, Alfonso Cuarón and Ari Aster.
Following their work on HBO’s Perry Mason, they are developing Miriam with Blumhouse and Prime Video. “Mauricio and Pedro’s far-reaching creative interests and ability to execute at a high level offer a unique combination of skills,” said Andrew Plotkin, EVP Drama Development, Sony Pictures Television. “We couldn’t be more excited to have them as part of our crew and look forward to making some great television together.
