Matthew Perry's ex says actor was 'terrified' of needles and swore he'd 'never inject'

Matthew is alleged to have been injected with substances at least 21 times in the week leading up to his passing. Speaking during an exclusive chat with The Mirror US, 47-year-old Kayti disclosed that the Friends star had confided in her his long-standing fear of dying by injection and insisted it would never happen. Matthew always, always told me that he would never, ever, use needles or inject anything into his body. He didn't even want to have tattoos," she recalled.
She continued, "I would often see him very high and using lots of different drugs. I would always get so scared, and tell him that he had to stop mixing all this stuff, saying 'you're gonna die.' But he was like...'You only die when you use needles...and I would never, ever, ever do that.'" Kayti, who dated Matthew in 2006 and worked as his assistant in 2011, stayed friends with the star until his death at the age of 54, in October 2023.
