Julia Roberts has broken her silence on actor Matthew Perry's tragic death, just over one month after the Friends actor was found dead at his home in Los Angeles.The Pretty Woman actress, 56, briefly dated Matthew, who played Chandler Bing in the hit US sitcom, in the 1990s.The pair's romance occurred around the same time Julia appeared in Friends episode The One After the Super Bowl in 1996, as Chandler's love interest and old school friend Susie Moss.
Julia has now spoken out about ex Matthew's sudden passing on 28 October, branding it "heartbreaking" in a new interview. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said: "The sudden passing of anybody so young is heartbreaking.
I think that you know, it just helps all of us just appreciate what we have and to keep going in a positive way as best we can." The actress went on to discuss her one-off appearance in Friends.
Julia added: "All good thoughts and feelings.They were all so welcoming to me as just a one-off character and it was a really fun time." Despite Julia and Matthew's brief relationship eventually fizzling out, the two actors appeared to remain on good terms with Matthew discussing their romance in his autobiography, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, which was released in November 2022.
