Matthew Perry fans 'sobbing' as Oscars pay tribute to late Friends star

This segment of the show is when the Academy pays tribute to those in showbiz who have passed away over the last year.This year, fans were eagerly waiting for a special tribute to actor Matthew Perry, who passed away last year.
His ex-girlfriend and assistant, Kayti Edwards, had previously asked the Oscars bosses to honour him, saying it was always his "dream" to be recognised at the ceremony.
She had been left upset that Matthew was left out of of the BAFTAs in memoriam last month, as were many of the late actor's fans.
Fans had also been left disappointed this awards season when the remaining cast members of Friends didn't reunite to pay tribute to Perry at the Emmys.
