Brighton new boy Matt O'Riley has limped off for his new club just NINE minutes into his debut. O'Riley bid farewell to Celtic earlier this week as he left the Premiership champions behind for a mega-money move to the English Premier League - with the £30m package smashing the Scottish record transfer fee.
Seagulls' boss Fabian Hurzeler handed the 23-year-old a spot in his starting line-up as O'Riley was given the nod to face Crawley Town in the EFL Cup.
But things would quickly go wrong for the Danish international after he was caught by a heavy challenge from Crawley captain Jay Williams in the opening exchanges.
The midfielder would be left writhing in pain on the floor as raging boss Hurzeler vented from the touchline. The former Hoops star would then be carried off the pitch by two members of the Brighton medical team to be replaced by Mark O'Mahony.
