Matt Hancock hit out at host Steven Bartlett on his Diary of a CEO podcast as things turned awkward when the latter began quizzing the former Health Secretary on his "contradictory" behaviour during his affair with now-girlfriend Gina Coladangelo. The 43 year old politician previously said he had looked forward to engaging in a relaxed chat with the Dragons' Den star after spending much of his political career being aggressively questioned on the likes of Good Morning Britain.

After a lengthy discussion about his upbringing, and decisions during the pandemic, the topic changed to his mistakes in his family life. "September 2020, there was guidance put in place to stop us engaging in casual sex outside of our household etc etc," Steven began, as Matt immediately started shaking his head. "Do you think you can ask the question in a little bit of a more respectful way?" the former Health Secretary asked sharply, as Steven attempted to carry on.

"And you told us to remember the basics of 'hands face space' and about hugging, and that you were looking forward to hugging your mum on the 17th May.

And then all this stuff comes out about The Sun and the CCTV leak in between." Still frustrated by the tack Steven had taken, Matt asked if they could just "start the segment again" because he was unhappy with the phrasing. "I haven't had casual sex with anybody I fell in love with somebody," the MP insisted, as the podcast lead urged him to simply let him ask.
