Matt Hancock boasts care home tests 'delivered' on time - but not all carried out

Matt Hancock faces a fresh testing row after claiming he met his target to "deliver" coronavirus tests to all English care home residents by June 6.

The Health Secretary said the goal was "completed yesterday, I'm very glad to say on time" - five and a half weeks after testing was first extended to residents without symptoms.

But Labour said his boast was "not good enough" because while tests have been delivered, not all of them have actually been carried out.

Mr Hancock insisted he had not broken any pledge. He told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show: "The goal we set is that the tests will be delivered by June 6." He added: "I’m being extremely precise. "I have not said that we have tested everybody.
