Mason Mount has delivered a message to his critics after finally getting off the mark for Manchester United. The former Chelsea player scored his first goal for United on Saturday night - in dramatic circumstances - following a £60million transfer to Old Trafford last summer.
Fit-again Mount was summoned from the substitutes bench for the final 20 minutes by Erik ten Hag and his strike well into stoppage-time looked to have given United victory.
However, opponents Brentford fired straight back at the Gtech Community Stadium to earn themselves a point. Kristoffer Ajer grabbed that goal to prevent Mount, 25, from making his mark with a winner.
It was still a landmark moment for the England international, though, as he put injury and form struggles behind him to fire a message to any lingering doubters.
