A masked up teenager who stole a Range Rover before leading the police on a 100 mph chase through Bury and Bolton has avoided going to prison.
18-year-old Terry Nelson was part of a group of four males seen rifling through the boot of the Evoque by a passing driver, before speeding off, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
The car was later picked up by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at speeds of 100mph. Nelson, of Bolton, who was driving the stolen vehicle, was seen to drive on the wrong side of the dual carriageway and nearly crash into other cars.
