Mary Berry has candidly spoken about her son William's death in a car crash at the age of 19. William, who died in 1989, was on a weekend home from university in Bristol when the tragic accident occurred.
He borrowed his father's car and went too fast round a corner, being killed while his sister Annabel escaped. Mary, 88, who is also mother to son Thomas, has shared with MailOnline that she's been comforted by her faith and the belief they will be reunited in the afterlife.
She told the publication: “Yes, definitely. It’s important to me. “Oh, yes! I think so. Absolutely. I hope so.There is a comfort in that.” While its been 34 years since his death, William is remembered every day and is an ever-present part of Mary and husband Paul's family life.
She said: “Every occasion we can we drink to Will. And you wonder what would have been. I still think of him as 19. He would be 53 now.
