Shoppers could make huge savings on groceries by picking up products that are past their best before dates. Some may not realise that unlike a use by date, products that have past their best before can often be safely consumed and sold.

And in their most recent newsletter, Martin Lewis' MSE has shared a website that sells reduced items that are near or passed their 'best before' date.

The site is called Approved Food, and could save shoppers a good amount of cash on food that they will eat fairly soon after buying.

Right now, the website has three Schweppes Orange Juice bottles for 99p - or 39p each - and a Kit Kat Multipack for 75p. It comes as some supermarkets begin to remove 'best before' dates on items in a bid to reduce the amount of food going to waste.
