Martin Lewis has spoken out after his wife Lara Lewington's show was 'dropped' by the BBC. Lara, 45, who carved out a niche as a weather presenter on Channel 5 and is known for her tech expertise, was a familiar face on the BBC's tech-focused programme Click.

Lara took to social media today to announce the end of the show with a touching message: "Here's to the future... some PERSONAL NEWS: After 15 years of covering some of the greatest technology on earth, sadly in a few months BBC Click will gaze into the future no more.

I've many exciting plans, documentaries to finish, being AI agony aunt on @lorraine and a compelling future health tech related project coming next year." She also shared her appreciation for the opportunities provided by the BBC: "The BBC gave us an amazing opportunity to cover the tech that has, and will transform our lives, in ways we could never have imagined.

It is a shame to see our dear show come to an end at this moment of AI transformation and incredible acceleration in innovation and possibility, but such are the economic constraints. "Over the years I have worked with some of the most brilliant, talented, creative and quirky characters that I am happy to call the Click family My co-host @spenley has been the cleverest and most generous colleague I could have dreamt of.
