Mariah Carey is speaking out after the heartbreaking loss of her mother and sister. Last month, the Obsessed singer revealed in a statement to People that in “a tragic turn of events” her mother Patricia and estranged sister Alison died separately on the same day.
She told the outlet at the time: So sad. Related: Rapper Rich Homie Quan Dead At 34 Since then, a friend of Alison’s has been speaking out about her and Mimi’s estranged relationship, but we haven’t heard much else from the pop star herself.
Until now. On Sunday, the Hero singer returned to Instagram with a video of her singing an acoustic version of her 2005 song It’s Like That.
At the end of the clip, she says “We’ll see you soon, China,” referring to her upcoming shows in the East Asian country. And in her caption, she briefly opened up about how she’s been managing the last couple weeks amid her devastating losses: Poor Mariah!
