Sharing the news with fans on Instagram on Thursday, the bride-to-be wrote beside a slideshow of photos and videos of the pair, "I said yes from the first day we met. . .
This was our little secret, wasn't it @gilkesa". Gilkes also posted a sweet snap of the couple and captioned it, "Thank you for making me a very very happy boy.
I look forward to a lifetime of loving you, and learning from you @mariasharapova. " It will be the first marriage for Sharapova, and the second union for Gilkes.
