Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has admitted he is delighted to be playing at home on the opening weekend of the new Premier League campaign.
United, who will fly to Thailand this coming Friday for the start of their pre-season tour, will welcome Brighton to Old Trafford on Sunday, August 7 for what will mark Erik ten Hag's first competitive game in charge.
It is the sixth season in succession that United will start the campaign at home. United thumped Leeds United 5-1 on the opening day of last season, meaning a similar result against Graham Potter's Brighton this time around would mark a dream start to life in charge for Ten Hag, who will experience managing at Old Trafford for the first time just seven days earlier, with United welcoming Rayo Vallecano to M16 in their final match of pre-season.
The Spanish side will visit Old Trafford on Sunday, July 31. READ MORE:Erik ten Hag can tick two Manchester United boxes with Lisandro Martinez transfer And the opening day visit of Brighton could not have pleased Rashford more.
