Marcus Rashford is attracting interest from Barcelona as his ongoing loan saga continues. The 27-year-old is bidding for a fresh start having been frozen out by head coach Ruben Amorim following his arrival in November.
Clubs including Napoli, Juventus, AC Milan, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund have all previously made their interest known. But according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have now entered the race to sign the Three Lions international this month.
Initial direct contact took place this week between Barça and Rashford's representatives, with agent Dwaine Maynard said to be leading the negotiations.
Maynard was known to have been in Italy this week, where conversations between himself and Milan's hierarchy took place. Rashford has not played for United since December as Amorim's side slumped to a 3-2 defeat against high-flying Nottingham Forest. "We will see," said the 39-year-old when asked if Rashford could return to feature against Arsenal in the FA Cup this weekend. "Let’s focus on the game, they are available, they are training, we will see the selection for the game." United are bidding to defend their FA Cup crown against the Gunners on Sunday, with the third-round tie set to be shown live on BBC One.
