Marcus Fraser won’t stop putting in the hard yards just because he’s bagged himself a new deal with St Mirren. That’s because the influential defender knows he has to stay at the very top of his game to keep his place in Stephen Robinson’s starting XI.
The 28-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year extension this week, committing himself to the Buddies until June 2025. And the ex-Ross County man is adamant he’ll need to keep working hard in Paisley to ensure he remains a key part of the Buddies’ backline for the rest of the season and beyond.
Fraser told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “I’m playing just now but I have to stay on my toes because at any time that can change with the squad that we’ve got.
So nothing will change from my point of view – just head down and keep working hard.“Hopefully more will follow suit and the manager will be on to them about that.
