Millions of people have received one-off payments worth £451 directly into their bank accounts to help with the cost of living crisis this year.
In April and May, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) sent around eight million households on means-tested benefits a payment of £301 each.
That added up to more than £2.4 billion in funding provided to families across the UK. Then, over June and early July, nearly seven million people claiming disability benefits should have received a £150 boost paid directly into their bank accounts.
