The 21-year-old returned to pre-season training at Carrington last week but has now signed a deal to spend the season with the Blues in the Championship.
Chong will continue to train with United at the start of pre-season before making the move to the Midlands and linking up with Lee Bowyer's side.
After two loan moves overseas last season Chong is now committed to a season of football in the second tier and he's confident he will improve at St Andrew's. “I’m excited to get started.
