Manchester United star Victor Lindelof hit by object thrown by spectator in FA Cup final

Victor Lindelof was struck by an object thrown from a spectator during the celebrations of Manchester United’s equaliser in the FA Cup final.

A controversial VAR decision had handed the Reds a penalty after Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish was deemed to have committed a handball offence following Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s header.

Bruno Fernandes coolly stepped up to slot the ball away to make it 1-1 on 33 minutes after Ilkay Gundogan’s opener for City after 12 seconds - a record for the quickest goal scored in an FA Cup final. Video footage appeared to show it was a lighter that had been thrown. Fernandes and Casemiro appeared to both take issue with the crowd while a number of other United players made referee Paul Tierney aware of what had happened.
