Manchester United have made initial enquiries about signing Lyon forward Moussa Dembele in the summer transfer window. It comes after Ralf Rangnick advised United to look at signing a younger striker at the end of the season.
The Manchester Evening News understands there is some interest from United over a possible deal, although the 25-year-old is just one of a number of players currently being looked at.
A source close to the Lyon player reiterated that Dembele would only be viewed as a squad player if he were to move to United this summer and that he'd likely be viewed as a replacement for the departing Edinson Cavani, rather than as a regular starter.
