Erik ten Hag has completed the first phase of his Manchester United rebuild. Rasmus Hojlund is moving to Old Trafford from Atalanta for a fee which could rise to £72million.
United have been in dire need of a quality central striker to lead the line and share the load with Marcus Rashford in the goal-scoring department and they have finally got their man.
The massive fee takes United's outlay this summer to an eye-watering £179.2m in addition to the £220m Ten Hag spent on upgrading the rabble of a squad he inherited last year.
It's a whole lot of spending but the Dutchman has completely transformed the look of his side over the last 12 months. Only two of Ten Hag's signings started his first competitive game in charge, an opening-day defeat by Brighton.
