Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has insisted that his celebration after giving England the lead against Albania wasn’t directed at anyone in particular.
Maguire scored with a header from close range to put England 1-0 up at Wembley on Friday, and stuck his fingers in ears as he wheeled away to celebrate.
Pundits and fans believed the gesture was a dig at the criticism he’s received after some poor individual displays for United this season.
