Manchester United matched an unwanted club record as they lost 2-1 to BSC Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for United in that clash, just like he did at the weekend against Newcastle, but when Aaron Wan-Bissaka received his marching orders the game's momentum swung into the hosts' favour which would prove decisive.
BSC Young Boys found an equaliser in the second half and, although United then grimly held on against their waves of attacking pressure, the Reds' resolve was broken deep into stoppage time when Jesse Lingard attempted a sloppy back pass to David de Gea.
