Manchester United have recalled young goalkeeper Elyh Harrison from his loan with Chester FC. Harrison joined the National League North side on a season-long loan in August and it was hoped his first taste of a competitive senior environment would accelerate his development.
The 18-year-old excelled and the decision has been taken to recall him, with a view to potentially organising another loan away at a higher level for the second half of 2024/25.
Harrison started every league game for Chester and kept seven clean sheets in 18 starts. He conceded just 16 goals in that period and became a key player despite his young age.
The academy talent spent last season playing for United's Under-21s and Under-18s, and was named Reserve Player of the Year at the end of the campaign for his superb performances.
