Manchester United legend Roy Keane is remaining tight-lipped on his links to the Sunderland manager’s job, although has reiterated his desire to return to management.
The former United captain is the favourite to take over at the Stadium of Light following Lee Johnson’s sacking earlier this week.
Reports have suggested Keane has spoken to Sunderland over the vacancy, with the former midfielder being offered the chance to return to the club where he began his management career.
Keane was previously in charge of the Black Cats for two years, guiding them to promotion back to the Premier League before leaving the club in 2008.
