Bryan Robson has called upon Erik ten Hag to add “more physical players” to the Manchester United squad this summer. Ten Hag has already got down to work on his rebuild at Old Trafford, having been officially unveiled as manager a fortnight ago.
Having appointed Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren as his assistants, the former Ajax boss has begun turning his attentions to shaping his playing squad for next season.
Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata were all confirmed to be leaving the club last week. They follow Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani in departing United following what was a dismal 2021/22 campaign, while others could yet still follow them out of the exit door. United have already contacted Barcelona over the availability of Frenkie de Jong, while the club are also prioritising Jurrien Timber as a defensive addition.
