Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney and his former England teammate Steven Gerrard are reportedly head-to-head to become the next Rangers manager.
The current boss of the Glaswegian giants - Philippe Clement - is under increased scrutiny after being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Queen's Park at Ibrox on Sunday.
Hopes of silverware in the league are fading fast with arch rivals Celtic 13 points ahead of them in the table. Rangers are still competing in the Europa League but, with the likes of United, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Lyon remaining in the competition, too, their chances of European glory appear slim.
If the Rangers hierarchy choose to sack Clement, it would reportedly cost them £1.2million to do so which, potentially, rules out any hope of swooping a manager from an existing club.
