Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Manchester United fans appear bullish about the club’s top four chances regardless of how the remainder of the January transfer window goes.
Marcus Rashford’s last-gasp winning goal gave United a crucial 1-0 victory over top-four rivals West Ham on Saturday, with the three points enough to leapfrog the Hammers into the final Champions League qualification place.
The Reds currently sit on 38 points from 22 matches, having played a game less than West Ham in fifth place. Arsenal and Spurs both sit just two points behind United, with the Gunners having played 21 matches and their North London rivals 20 games.
It means Ralf Rangnick’s side have very little breathing space in the race to secure Champions League football next season - and this weekend’s international break represents a good opportunity to take stock ahead of the run-in.
