Manchester United fans were overjoyed at the news on Monday that Edinson Cavani had signed an extension to his current contract, keeping him at Old Trafford for another 12 months.
The 34-year-old has proven to be a huge hit since his arrival last October, netting 15 goals across all competitions including five inhis last three appearances.
It was feared he may have opted to return to South America in the summer, leaving a void in United’s attack. Yet his decision to say has given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a massive boost and relieved some of the pressure on the club to sign a new striker in this summer’s transfer window.
