Manchester United have agreed to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan in a 55m euro (£47.2m)deal. United have reached an agreement after positive discussions with Inter in recent weeks and will pay £43.8m with a potential £3.4m in add-ons dependent on performance and success.
Manager Erik ten Hag identified Onana as his prime choice to replace David de Gea. Onana, 27, is set to become United's second signing of the summer after the £60m Mason Mount.
The timing and location of his medical is not yet confirmed but the club are aiming for him to join the squad on their tour of the United States as soon as possible. United and Inter have a productive relationship, having negotiated deals for Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez in the last four years with the assistance of intermediaries.
