Manchester's iconic Hotel Gotham has been sold to new owners in a multi-million pound deal. Leonardo Hotels, one of the fastest growing hotel groups in Europe, has confirmed the aquisition of the landmark site for an "undisclosed sum".
The award-winning five star hotel is loved by celebrities and VIPs and is based inside one of the city's most famous buildings.
Known as the "king of King Street", the Art Deco building was designed by Edwin Lutyens and opened as the former Midland Bank in 1935.
Over half of the building was taken over by Bespoke Hotels to become Hotel Gotham opening in 2015. It boasts a distinctive 1930s banking theme throughout, in honour of the building's heritage, and has welcomed A-list stars like Robbie Williams, Simon Cowell and Jennifer Hudson in recent years.
