Patti Smith was due to perform an exclusive live concert at MIF, her first since the pandemic began. But due to travel restrictions that remain in place across the globe, the singer-songwriter will no longer be able to attend.
Patti was set to spend two nights performing at Manchester Central on July 7 and 8, a highlight of the programme of events of this year's arts festival.
The shows, backed by a full band including her son Jackson Smith on guitar, were her only UK dates this summer and her debut at MIF.
