A small Manchester charity has confirmed that it plans to feed over 1,000 people in need on Christmas Day. Applications for referrals to the Christmas appeal at Humans MCR closed on December 2, and they have since confirmed the final tally.
Hampers stacked with festive food, presents and treats will be delivered to a whopping 1,022 people across Greater Manchester - though the foodbank's founder told the M.E.N that number represents just a fraction of the need across the region.

"We're limited to what we can do because of space - but we know the demand is there." It makes this year's appeal the charity's biggest yet.
Last year, the Manchester Evening News joined forces with Humans to raise over £13,000 for the project, which delivered to 840 families in our region.
