Manchester Arena public inquiry: 'Worst nightmare' fears in fire control room after 'dirty bomb' report

The public inquiry into the atrocity heard a 999 call from a member of the public stood in an NCP car park at the Arena was answered by a control room operator with limited experience at North West Fire Control at 10.41pm - 10 minutes after the explosion on May 22, 2017.

The caller told Dean Casey, the operator, there had been a bomb blast and people had shrapnel in their bodies. The inquiry heard the unidentified caller went on to say they believed it was a 'dirty bomb'.
