Amelia Mae Thompson, 12, was unhurt in the attack on May 22, 2017 but was left with mental and emotional scars. In 2018 she was invited to attend the Royal Wedding after being nominated by her mum, Lisa Newton.

Amelia was offered a ‘plus one’ to take to Windsor Castle, but rather than taking a member of her own family, the kind-hearted teen invited Sharon Goodwin, the grandmother of Olivia Campbell-Hardy, who was one of the 22 people killed in the attack.
